I'm celebrating Chinese New Year for the first time this year, with Jetaimes family in Pekan Nenas, Malaysia!
It's such a new experience and I'm learning lots. I found out everybody avoids sweeping and taking out garbage on the day itself because otherwise you'll "sweep away all your good fortune for the next year". I'm thinking that just to be safe it's probably best to avoid sweeping for the rest of the year too ;)
Right now we are creating cool little decorations out of the old red packets "Hong Bao" from last years celebration and our marriage. Jetaime also showed me how to make a fish out of one! Can't wait for everyone to arrive and the full celebrations to begin :)
